Easter in Poland

Its Good Friday and snowing outside so, with the flowers out, it is an interesting mix of winter and spring! Today is a normal work day in Poland, although if you are Protestant the law allows for having the day off. Tomorrow people take baskets with painted eggs, ham, salt, pepper, bread and other goodies to be blessed. During lent strict Catholics fast so on Easter Sunday the breakfast feast is a highlight. It is a family event-after which people go to Church. Monday is also know as Wet Monday-basically a big water fight!!! So if you need to go outside-Watch Out!!!!

Not much chocolate around, there are christmas style decorations but they are from German traditions, not Polish.

The best thing about Easter where the pre Easter classes! What fun to openly share the Gospel in class!! There where some awesome responses-so please pray for softening of hearts and further opportunities for deeper conversations.

Another thing I have really enjoyed this week was the combined Churches service. About 400 people from 10 different Churches came together to worship Christ! It was a really encouaging day.

Blessing to you and your families at Easter!
